Item Description
William Eley & William Fearn really knew what they were doing when they produced forks like these. This pair of fiddle pattern forks is the essence of British refinement: nothing extraneous to them, but the devil is there in the detail: the chamfered edges of the 'fiddle' shaped finials give away the quality of these pieces at a glance. Pick one up, and you'll be bowled over by its heft and weight. Turn them over, and the crests, engraved to the reverse for a table set 'a la francaise' as would have been the case in the grandest English households, are revealed.
In excellent original condition with cracking hallmarks and crests.
Length: 20.2cm or 8 inches
