Item Description

This splendid, very large George III meat dish is of oval form with a plain sunken oval central well which is unembellished.
The border is engraved with the armorial and crest of George Hamilton-Gordon.
Dimensions: 57.15 x 43.18 cm


History

The Coat of Arms of George Hamilton-Gordon, 4th Earl of Aberdeen, who married in 1805 and was Prime Minister between 1852 – 1855. Given as a wedding present in 1805 from Haddo House, Aberdeenshire.
