Item Description
A superb rare Chinese armorial saucer plate, finely decorated with the hand painted "Green Fitzugh" pattern. Central reserve with the crest for SACKVILLE.
(Incorrectly copied from a seal or impression).
Blazon " Out of a coronet of eight fleur de lys an estoile of eight points argent".
They were Dukes and Viscounts. The titles died out when the 5th and last Duke died unmarried in 1843.
Date: Circa 1815
measurements: 5.75 Inches across.
Condition: Good, small rim chip, haircrack near footrim. Some regilding.
