Here is a superb Paris / Limoges plate in the Sevres style. It bears the arms of PRINCE DE BROGLIE of CHATEAU DE CHAUMONT SUR LOIRE. Perfect for any discerning collection.
Marie Say used her considerable inheritance to purchase CHATEAU DE CHAUMONT in 1875. The family made a fortune from sugar. The same year she married PRINCE HENRI AMEDEE DE BROGLIE. You can see the carved coat of arms in the Chateau walls. This magnificent Chateau occupies a commanding position over the Loire river. There is a famous painting of Ingres, Princess De Broglie (see arms, top right).
