		Item Description
		
		A fine shield-shaped gold plaque armorial brooch with polychrome enameling depicting the arms of Fitzalan-Howard impaling Scott-Kerr to commemorate the marriage of Francis Edward Fitzalan-Howard (1859-1924), the 2nd Baron Howard of Glossop, and his second wife, Hyacinthe Scott-Kerr (1865 -1930).

		History
Francis and Hyacinthe were married on the 9th April 1891.  He was the second and surviving son of Edward George Fitzalan-Howard, the 1st Baron Howard of Glossop and his first wife, Augusta Talbot; whilst Hyacinthe was the fifth daughter of William Scott-Kerr of Chatto in the County of Berwickshire and of Sunlaws in the County of Roxburghshire and his wife, Frances Louisa Fennessy.
