Item Description

A superb Wedgwood creamware plate, Royal blue and gilded pattern border with central coat of arms of the Duke of Clarence, later King William IV. Many thanks. Please see my other armorial pieces.
A similar plate was found with "HRH Duke of Clarence" painted on the rear. A platter of this design was found at Forest Hill, Kent the hunting lodge of the Duke of Clarence. (Originally built for Henry VIII and used by Elizabeth I). Part of the Bushey House Estate.

Date: Circa 1800
Dimensions: Approx 9.75 Inches wide.
Condition: Excellent, 3 Small restored flakes on front rim.
