Item Description
This is a great pair of Georgian silver dessert forks, they have a lovely feel and balance in the hand and are in very good condition, all the tines are even and in good order, they have been made by the well known Bateman family.
n.b. they have turned down ends, which is much scarcer as a pattern and generally only made by the Bateman family or Thomas Wallis.

History
They belonged to Viscount Kilwarden of the County of Kildare, Ireland (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Viscount_Kilwarden) and have been engraved with the motto "pro patria amori" with a wolfs head gorged with a ducal coronet under a viscount coronet.
