Item Description
This is a wonderful Regency style egg cruet set. Unusually it has three egg cups. The stand has bold gadroon top and base rims with acanthus leaf supports and legs. The egg cups are gilt to the interiors and the spoons retain most of their original all over gilding.
The makers of this set were John and Thomas Settle, however two of the egg cups bear the mark of Wright & Fairbairn and have a slightly different gadroon mount. All seven components are Sheffield marked and each egg cup and spoon is engraved with the same engraved crest of a unicorn To have the original spoons is a great rarity. The set is in excellent condiiton and looks fabulous.
Stand is 165mm high and 125mm wide; egg cups are 68mm tall
