Item Description

A 19th century armorial bookplate for Sir Henry Meax Bart.

Probably for Sir Henry Meux (pronounced Myooks), 2nd Baronet of Theobalds Park, Hertfordshire, 1817-1883; succeeded father 1831; MP and head of Meux & co, a London Brewery; married Lady Louisa Brudenell-Bruce, daughter of 3rd Marquess of Ailesbury.

Condition: Fair. Some marks.

Framed in matt black.
