		An early 19th (possibly late 18th) century armorial bookplate for Sir Thomas Gage Bart of Hengrave Hall, Suffolk.
Sir Thomas Gage, 7th Baronet, 1781-1820, was a noted botanist, after whom the woodland flower Gagea was named. The Gages of Hengrave were a junior branch of the Gages of Firle Place, Sussex and a notable recusancy family.  The baronetcy became extinct in 1887.
Condition :  very good.
