A 19th century bookplate for Thomas Berney Esqr. of Bracon Ash, Norfolk.

Rev Thomas Berney (1816-1895) was the second son of Thomas Trenche Berney of Morton Hall and Bracon Hall, Norfolk. Rector and Lord of the Manor of Bracon Ash, Rev Berney resided at Bracon Hall and died unmarried.

The Berney's of Morton Hall are descended from the younger brother of Sir Richard Berney 1st Bart of Park Hall, Reedham, Norfolk. The family had been established at Reedham since the marriage of Sir Thomas de Berney to Margaret, daughter and heiress of William de Reedham in the time of Edward III.

Condition: Very Good

Framed in matt black and mounted in cream.
