Item Description

A decorative late 18th century bookplate for John Peyto Verney, Lord Willoughby de Broke.

In excellent condition and measuring 98mm by 80mm.

John Peyto-Vernon (1738-1816) succeeded his uncle as 14th Lord Willoughby and de jure 22nd Lord Latimer in 1752. He married Lady Louisa North in 1761, the daughter of the 1st Earl of Guilford and sister of the British Prime Minister responsible for the loss of the North American Colonies.
