Item Description
Here is a superb and rare Chinese armorial plate made for the Annesley family of Castlewellan, Ireland. The supporters are a Roman Knight and a Moorish Prince.
Francis Annesley (1740-1802) was 1st Earl Annesley, 2nd Viscount Glenawly, M.P for Downpatrick. He purchased the Mount Panther Estate in 1772, next to the family estates of Castlewellan, where the family built a Castle about 1856.

Condition: Good, section of rim with cracks, invisibly repaired by a conservator. 3 hairlines.
