The Rogers Family Crest
John Rogers (1743-1821) only son of Thomas Rogers of Besford Court, Worcestershire by his wife Mary, daughter of Capt. Englesby of Upton on Severn. Succeeded his father in 1773 and in 1782 he purchased the manor of Yarlington, Somerset. [BLG 1937, under Wright-Rogers of Yarlington]. In 1774 he married Anne Reynolds, daughter and heiress of Pickering Robinson of Rawcliffe, Yorkshire and eventually heir to her great uncle Samuel Lloyd of Friday Hill, Chingford, Essex. The family history of this family is shown in Burkes Landed Gentry (1937 edition) under Wright-Rogers of Yarlington.
