The Crutchley Family Crest

of Sunninghill Park, Berkshire. General Charles Crutchley, Col. of 23rd R.W.Fusilers, born 1810 the second son of George Henry Duffield Esq of Sunninghill Park by his wife Juliana, daughter of Sir William Burrell Bt. George Duffield assumed the surname and arms of Crutchley only by Royal Licence 1806 on inheriting Sunninghill Park from his maternal uncle. He served as High Sheriff 1807 and was the son of Michael Duffield by his wife Alice, only daughter of Jeremiah Crutchley Esq. The Crutchley's were successful dyers in Clink Street , Southwark, where they also ran a brewery.
