The Astor Family Crest
Viscount Astor and Baron Astor of Hever Castle, Kent. William Waldorf Astor was created Baron Astor in Jan 1916 and Viscount in June 1917. The eldest son, Waldorf, at the time MP for Plymouth Sutton, succeeded as 2nd Viscount in 1919 wherupon his wife (married 1906), Nancy, was elected MP for the same seat at the by resulting election; becoming the first woman to take her seat in the House of Commons. She held the seat until 1945. The younger son, John Jacob Astor, was created Baron Astor of Hever in Jan 1956. See that family.
