Of Deane, co. Northampton and Hockwold, co. Norfolk, Eastwood Park, co. Gloucester, and Bathford, co. Somerset. Descended from Robert de Tyndale, feudal Baron of South Tyndale, and Langley Castle, co. Northumberland, temp. Henry II. The shield is quarterly of six with arms for the following families: 1) Tyndale; 2) Dean of co. Northampton; 3) Bigod; 4)Montford of co. Norfolk; 5) Le Bon; and 6) Booth. This is taken from the 1884 edition of Burkes General Armory. Interestingly Fox Davie's "Armorial Families" merely refers to 38 quarterings without describing them. This is most unusual. SNBM
