The Paton Family Crest

of Birkdale. Sir James Wallace Paton, Knt (1919), Mayor of Southport. Born 1863 the son of Walter Paton, Master of Isambard Brunel's The Great Eastern, on which ship Sir James was born. Founded Clavert and Paton and registered the patent for plastic coated paper which he donated to the British Government as part of the British War effort in the 1914-18 war.
