The Marsh Family Crest
Arms borne by Narcissus Marsh, Archbishop of Dublin and founder of Marsh's Library in that city. He succeeded Francis Marsh as Archbishop in 1679 and it has always been assumed that they were not related. However, a contempory document in the possession of the author (a direct descendant of Francis) shows that the arms of Narcissus are very similar to those of Francis, the crest being differenced by the addition of a chain to the coronet, potentially indicating kinship.
