The Nelson Family Crest
Rear Admiral Sir Horatio Nelson. Arms granted 28 Oct 1797 prior to his ennoblement in November 1798 as Baron Nelson of the Nile and Burnham Thorpe, when he was granted an augmentation to his arms. This information is taken from "A selection of Norfolk Bookplates" by Ron Fiske. Nelson commissioned a small number of bookplates with these arms in 1797 and some examples also survive with the motto.
