The Coghill Family Crest
John Coghill, the emigrant, the son of Marmadtike Coghill of Tintergale, Co. York, England, came over to Virginia in 1664. He descended from the Coghills of Coghill, Co. York, and of Bletchington, Co. Oxford. Sir Thomas Coghill, of that place, was High Sheriff of the County in 1633.
