The Ambler Family Crest
The Amblers, a prominent Virginia family, are known to have come from Leeds, county York, England, where the father of Richard Ambler, the emigrant, was Sheriff of the county (1721). The colonist settled in Yorktown. Tombs of the family bear the arms we give, quartered with those of the Jaquelin family, the emigrant having married Elizabeth Jaquelin, of an old Huguenot family.
