The Caverly Family Crest

This coat of arms was confirmed in 1544 to Sir Anthony Calverley, direct ancestor of the American Caverleys, or Caverlys. The common ancestor was Hugh Calverley (1403), who bore, however, different arms. The emigrants, two brothers, George and Charles Caverly, came over in 1635. The pedigree is clear back to the ancestor having received confirmation of the devices we give. Burke gives different arms to the Calverleys he mentions.
