The Lyman Family Crest

The emigrant, Richard Lyman, came over from High Ongar, county Essex, England, in 1631, and settled at Hartford, Ct, where himself and many of his descendants were prominent in public affairs. The pedigree of Richard Lyman is clearly traced back to Thomas Lyman of Navistoke, county Essex, who died there in 1509. We give the quarterings, as borne in this country, by the head of the Lyman family. The first and fourth quarters are for Lyman, the second for Lambert, the third for Osborne.
