The Giles Family Crest
Sir Edward Giles was knight of Bowen, county Devon, at the time of the Herald's Visitation of 1620. On the Plymouth Charter, granted in 1620, is found the name of Edward Giles of Bowden. We find that Edward Giles, the emigrant, was admitted a freeman of Massachusetts in 1634. Some very old drawings of the arms we give are in the possession of the Mountfort family, of Boston.
