This family originates from Carmarthen, England, where lived Matthew (I.) Craddock, father of Matthew (II.) Craddock, early Governor of the Massachusetts Bay colony, whose seal reproduces the armorial devices we give. The Cradocks of Quorn Court, England, still figure [with the same arms] amongst the landed gentry.
