The Rapaljie Family Crest

This family—of French origin—descends from noble homme Gaspard Colet de Rapalye, from the neighborhood of Châtillon sur Loire, France, who fled religious persecution in 1548, and took refuge in Holland. His descendants, George and William Jansen de Rapaljie, emigrated, in 1623, to the New Netherlands. The name is spelt also, here, Rapalye, Rapelye.
