The Winslow Family Crest
Five sons of Edward Winslow, of Dwitwich, county Winchester, England, emigrated to New England. One of them, Edward Winslow, came over on the Mayflower, and became third Governor of the Massachusetts Bay Colony, after William Bradford. We find, in the King's Chapel Burial Ground, in Boston, a Winslow tombstone, with the devices we reproduce. At the beginning of the XVIII. century, Josiah Winslow, a descendant of the Governor, was making public use of the arms we give.
