The emigrant, John Warren, belonged to the Warrens of Poynton, county Chester, a younger branch of the Earls of Warren, now extinct. He came over in 1640, with Winthrop, from Head, county Devon. Another emigrant, Richard Warren, probably of the same stock, came over in 1653.
