The Emerson Family Crest
The emigrant, Nathaniel Emerson, was born in England, and died in Ipswich in 1712. He came from Foxton, county Durham, England. We find his tombstone, still well preserved, in the Old Ipswich Cemetery, and bearing the armorial devices we publish. That coat of arms was granted this family by King Henry VIII.
