Queensferry, Scotland. [Burkes General Armory, 1843 Edition, shows the motto for this family as being "Semper Vigilans" and the family possess 19th century images of the arms with this motto. However Fairbairns (1905 edition) shows the motto as being "Expecta Cuncta Superne"; a motto that Burke ascribes to Wilson of Inverness. It is probable that the motto given by Fairbairns for this family is incorrect. SNBM]
