The Marsh Family Crest
Sir Henry Marsh. Baronet. (extinct), of Merrion Square, Dublin. The Queen's physician in ordinary in Ireland from 1837 and created a Baronet in 1839. Died in 1860 and succeeded by only son, Col Sir Henry Marsh 2nd Bart, who dsp in 1868. The first Bart was born into a junior branch of a distinguished ecclesiastical family established in Ireland since the restoration . He was a direct descendant of Francis Marsh, Archbishop of Dublin and Primate of All Ireland temp William and Mary; Jeremy Taylor, Bishop of Down and Connor and commonly called the "Shakespeare of the Church of England"; Mary Boleyn, sister of Anne; and William of Wyckham, founder of New College, Oxford and Winchester College. He was indirectly a descendent of Thomas Chichele, Archbishop of Canterbury and founder of All Souls College, Oxford.
