Item Description

The Hanoverian 'Hook End' Basting/Serving Spoon is of typical form with a plain elongated bowl and turned over hook end. The top of each stem is engraved with a contemporary Crest and each is very well marked. The Hook end design was peculiar to Ireland and examples are very rare today. The design simply enabled them to be hung up, when not in use. The quality of this spoon is outstanding as one would expect from this silversmith, who specialised in the production of spoons. The drop, on the reverse of the bowl, is also engraved with the original scratch weight, which is an unusual feature on a spoon.

Length: 11.5 inches, 28.75cm.
Weight: 4.5 oz.
