Item Description
A stunning pair of 18th century oval entree dishes, the dishes are plain formed in design with applied gadroon borders for highlights. The covers are extremely elegant and are decorated with a stylish lower tongue designed gallery border and crowned with stunning serpentine handles below which sits a bead border rosette which is set amongst elegant floral hand chasing. Both dishes have an armorial and crest for importance.

Condition: Excellent throughout. Bases are 1796 and the lids 1797.
Note: You find the one year date variation from time to time. Please do not let that distract you, originally these dishes almost certainly come from a much larger important dinner service and over the years the lids and dishes have been interchanged.
