Item Description

This pair of exceptional George III antique sterling silver wine coasters are of circular form. The bodies of these silver coasters are embellished with pierced scrolling and interlacing decoration. The decoration to the bodies incorporates a shaped cartouche displaying the original crest of the family of Fletcher. The rims are undulating and have a gadrooning design.
The bases are silver which makes these coasters extra special. Underneath, the bases are fitted with their original mahogany inserts.
These coasters are about as fine, and early in date, as one is likely to find.
