Item Description
This is a truly gorgeous Iriah Georgian silver spoon in the pecularly Irish Celtic Point shape and crisp with beautiful bright cutting. It is in nice condition, however there is an old mend to the base of the bowl where it joins the handle of the spoon. This was carefully done MANY years ago and doesn't in any way compromise the strength or function (see picture). Repairs such as these are an indication of how prized silver eating implements were. It was worth the effort to have them carefully mended, as they could then go on in service indefinitely, as this one has. This spoon feels very nice and balanced in the hand and has been engraved with both the crest and family motto. On the reverse, the hallmarks are in great condition.
