-Lord Carrington, sometime of of Wycombe Abbey, High Wycombe. In 1883 they had 16,128 acres in Buckinghamshire (worth 26,805 guineas pa) and 9,656 acres in Lincolnshire (worth 15,418). Various creations: Marquis (1912) (& Viscount & Earl before that in 1895), and Baron (1796 and 1797).


-Lord Bicester (scion of the above), Barony created in 1938;


-Frederick Henry Smith (1859-1946), PC, created Baron Colwyn, in 1917;


-Ferdinando Dudley William Lea Smith, 12th Baron Dudley (1872–1936). A barony created by writ in 1440, enjoyed by two or three generations of the Smith family between 1916 and 1972.

Augustus John Smith (1804 – 1872) acquired the islands' lease in 1834, and was governor there for over 30 years. His descendants have been known as Smith-Dorrien-Smith, and Dorrien-Smith.
