Here is a superb porcelain tea set, painted with an armorial, PRINCE LOBANOV-ROVTOSKY of RUSSIA. Wonderful, exquisite set with a monogrammed crown to the reverse. It is possibly a child's set as it is very small. The monogram SKR may be that of PRINCESS SOFIA KASATKIN ROVTOSKY (1877-1918) perhaps assasinated by the Bolsheviks the same year as her brother, Nikolai (1886-1918). Perfect for any discerning collection.
She was the daughter of Prince Nikolai Fedorovich K.R (1848-1908) State councillor. They resided at 84 Moyka Embankment St Petersberg. A short distance from the Lobanov Rovtosky Palace. residence of Alexei Lobanov Rovtosky (1824-1896) a famous Foreign Minister to Tzar Nicholas II.

Date: Late 19th-early 20thC
Dimensions: Tray approx. 33.5cm(13.5ins) Wide. Teapot 9.5cm tall.
Condition: Excellent condition. Small restored chip to tray, handle to sugar bowl. The lids may be later, a perfect fit
and beautifully gilded.
