Item Description
This fabulous little 24 carat gold plated jug is in super condition and shows very little sign of having had much use. It is embellished with scrolls and leaf patterns. This jug is ideally suited well to supply sufficient milk for an intimate tea for two, or a small amount of something like coulis for dessert. It has been made to a very high standard by the well known Richard Hodd and Son, who produced high quality electroplate goods, as their 1909 advert notes;
"Manufacturers of all kinds of High-class Electo Plate, Silver, Cutlery, Spoons and Forks, etc. Skilled at all kinds of Electro-plate manufacture and Silversmith Work, especially Models in Silver to scale and other special pieces for Presentation;"
They made, amongst other things, electroplated gilt goods for the Paris Exhibition of 1878.
