Item Description
Kings Husk pattern, while not as familiar as the ubiquitous Kings, from which it is derived, offers a simplified version of Kings decoration, with the big, gorgeous shells (stylised 'husks' in this case) and Corinthian capital-like details and the same substantial weight, but it's just a bit different, a bit less fussy. The pair of spoons offered here is a fine example of the best quality flatware made during the late Georgian period. They are amazingly heavy and quite clearly were implements designed to impress. The pair is very crisp indeed, having seen very gentle use, and not much of it. There is no deterioration of the pattern details, the hallmarks are sharp and legible, and the crests (engraved on the back for a table laid a la francaise...the grand way) are beautiful, if a tiny bit rubbed because they are on a curved surface. Wonderful.
